The construction of a new Masjid in Birmingham is generating such enthusiasm that it could become the new iconic point of reference in the city.
The Masjid center will be a six story structure and will provide many services to the community. Attached to it will be an Islamic school, a community center open to the public, and a commercial center.
The icon will revive the forgotten traditions and the functionality of the mosque as an institution to gather and acquire knowledge, share wisdom, contemplate, challenge thoughts, interact with spirituality and celebrate as a community. This was declared by Mohammad Ramzan Dabbagh, Project Director of the Islamic Center of Great Britain.

Muhammad Dabbagh emphasized the importance that Prophet Mohammad ﷺ attributes to the construction of the mosque; Masjid Quba is the first mosque that was built during his emigration to Medina. The prophet then quickly established Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina after his arrival in the city. Those two were the first developments that the Prophet ﷺ consolidated, which implies that mosques are a crucial identity of Muslims in terms of spirituality and peace.
