

The Special Corte d’Assise of Paris, on December 12th 2022, expressed its opinion on the attack that took place on 14th of July 2016 in Nice. The court sentenced the 8 defendants to between 2 and 18 years in prison, except for the perpetrator Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, who was killed by the police. The defendants present were suspected of having connection to the attacker.
The judges expressed themselves and established the various penalties for the suspects who contributed to the terrorist act: Mohamed Ghraieb (47 years, of tunisian Nationality) and Chokri Chafroud (43 years, of tunisian Nationality) who both were aware of the danger of the activity of the attacker, were accused of helping to rent the truck to carry out the attack. Ramzi Arefa (28 years old), was sentenced to 12 years. He admitted to have provided the gun to Mohammed Lahouej Boulel with which he fired at the police. The other members of the bombing group, a Tunisian and four Albanians, were sentenced to prison terms of between two and eight years on charges of arms trafficking and criminal conspiracy. Brahim Tritrou is the only suspect who was tried in absentia in Tunisia.
We recall the tragedy that occurred on July 14th 2016 on the "Promenade des Anglais in Nice", in which the truck driven by Mohammed Lahouej Boulel rammed into the crowd, killing 86 people Mohammed Lahouej Boulel, alla guida di un camion travolse la folla uccidendo 86 persone e ferendo 307 passanti.
