The "Senzatomica Revolution Talks: I disarm the future", conference sponsored by the Buddhist association "Soka Gakkai" that was aimed mainly at a young audience between the age of 18 and 40 years, took place on the morning of Saturday 4th February in Rome. The Auditorium Parco della Musica located in the Flaminio district of the capital, framed the event. In the auditorium premises over a thousand spectators of all ages were hosted. The purpose of the event, previously repeated in other Italian cities, is to raise awareness of the young public opinion regarding the potential risks of a nuclear conflict, increasingly debated following the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
In the morning session, numerous prominent guests took to the stage, among others; the science disseminator Massimo Temporelli (who inaugurated the meeting with a stimulating lesson on “Albert Einstein's youth and his famous Theory of Relativity”), Claudia Pratelli (councillor of the School, Training and Work of the Municipality of Rome), journalists (such as Fabio Tonacci of Repubblica, Monica Perosino of La Stampa, Micol Flammini of Il Foglio and Annalisa Girardi of Fanpage.it), young activists (including Vanessa Hanson, social media manager, Alice Filiberto, vice president of Youth for TPNW association in favor of nuclear disarmament and Alessja Trama, member and coordinator of the Comitato Senzatomica) and finally artists such as Caterina Forza (lead actress of the Amazon Prisma TV series) and the musician Pietro Morello , who was entrusted with a touching epilogue on the sensitive issues of bullying [of which he himself was a victim] and the war perceived by children.
The event, during which the public managed to participate in an interactive survey via smartphone, was presented by the journalist and Rai host Marco Carrara. The presence of young representatives of various confessional associations including the Confederazione Islamica Italiana (Italian Islamic Confederation was quite significant.
