Bilal Al-Sudani was killed by US troops during a firefight in the mountain complex in northern Somalia.
Ten militiamen defending Al-Sudani died in the armed clash.
The terrorist is believed to be primarily responsible for the growing presence of ISIS members in Africa. The funding for the group's activities around the world, including Afghanistan was also referred to Al Sudani.
Ten years ago, before joining ISIS, Al-Sudani was involved in recruiting and training fighters for the al-Shabaab extremist movement in Somalia.
