About eight years ago, Redouane’s daughter fled Italy to fight with ISIS, and for that reason she was sentenced to four years in prison, on terrorism charges. The Moroccan father, a skilled worker, residing in Arzergrande in the province of Padua, has now been denied the concession of a Italian citizenship particularly because of the behavior of Merien, who in 2015, at the age of 19, went to Syria to join the Islamic state.
Redouane Rehaily,, 50 years old, has four other children and has lived in Italy for many years, where, thanks to a regular job, he bought a house on mortgage. The man was denied the concession of citizenship "on the basis of elements that would not rule out possible dangers for the security of the Republic". This is the decisive element that led the Lazio Regional Administrative Court to reject the appeal against the Interior Ministry's refusal to recognize the citizenship.
